Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 22 October 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy governs how creators and learners use Whatsio, our platform for building, selling, and taking educational courses delivered over WhatsApp. By using Whatsio you agree to this policy. We may suspend or remove any account or course that breaches it.

1. Who this applies to

This policy applies to everyone who uses Whatsio, including course creators who build and sell courses, and learners who enrol in and pay for them.

2. Prohibited content

You may not create, sell, distribute, or promote any course or content that:

  • Is illegal, or promotes or facilitates illegal activity.
  • Is fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading, including false claims about what a course teaches or what results it delivers.
  • Is sexually explicit, pornographic, or otherwise adult in nature.
  • Promotes hate, violence, harassment, or discrimination against any person or group.
  • Infringes the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party.
  • Contains malware, phishing, or attempts to compromise the security of any person or system.
  • Promotes get-rich-quick schemes, pyramid or Ponzi schemes, or other financial scams.

3. Prohibited conduct

When using Whatsio, you may not:

  • Use the platform to launder money, evade taxes, or process payments unrelated to a genuine course sale.
  • Misrepresent your identity, or use another person's payment or bank details without authorisation.
  • Spam, harass, or send unsolicited messages to learners or any other person.
  • Attempt to bypass, disrupt, or abuse the platform, its payment flow, or its rate limits.
  • Resell or redistribute another creator's course without permission.

4. Payments and refunds

Course payments are processed by our payment provider, Paystack. Learners pay a one-time fee for lifetime access to a course, and the creator receives their share directly through a verified payout account, with Whatsio retaining a platform commission. Creators must honour the access they sell, and must handle refund requests fairly and in line with our Refund and Dispute Policy.

5. Compliance with third-party terms

Whatsio operates on WhatsApp and uses Paystack for payments. Your use of Whatsio must also comply with the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy and the terms of Paystack. Any use that would cause Whatsio to breach those terms is prohibited.

6. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected breaches of this policy. Where we find a breach, we may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, withhold or reverse payouts associated with prohibited activity, and where appropriate report the matter to the relevant authorities or to Paystack.

7. Reporting and contact

If you believe someone is using Whatsio in breach of this policy, or you have questions about it, contact us at support@whatsio.io.
